 Day 1.

Day 2.

Accra City Tour.

Morning pick up in a private air-condition vehicle from your hotel. Visit W.E.B. Du Bois Center, take a guided tour of the museum and listen to history of the Father of Modern Pan-Africanism. Continue to the Black Star Square and visit the Eternal Flame of African Liberation, lit by Osagyefo Dr Kwame Nkrumah first President of Ghana. Visit the Kwame Nkrumah Memorial Park & Mausoleum, dedicated to Osagyefo Dr Kwame Nkrumah for his struggle for Ghana’s independence. Listen to history of Osagyefo Dr Kwame Nkrumah and his vision for Ghana. Stop at Makola Market, Accra’s largest open market overflowed with goods, people, scents and sounds to see how local Ghanaian market operates. Continue to Jamestown, a fishing community as well as one of the historic old towns of Accra. Take a guided tour of its interesting sight and learn new things.

Day 3.

Fantasy Coffin Workshop, Artist Alliance Gallery & National Museum.

Visit a local carpentry workshop who specialized in exotic coffins making. Stop at a private craft market where arts and craft are beautifully displayed on walls for sale.

Day 4.         5 Hours Drive.

Sacred Monkey Sanctuary, Ewe Kente Weaving Village & Wli Waterfalls.

Morning travel to a small village with a habituated Mona monkey population of about 350. Feed them some bananas to enjoy their friendly nature.Visit an Eco village notable for weaving Ewe Kente. Walk through the thick semi-deciduous forest to the lower section of the Wli Waterfalls to enjoy a chilly and refreshing view of falls.

Day 5.      

Volta River Boat Cruise, Shai Hills & Bead Factory.

Enjoy a morning motor boat cruise on the Volta river. Relax and refresh having a beautiful view of the river. Experience adventure and mini wildlife at the Shai Hills. Visit a bead factory to see how traditional Ghanaian beads are crafted.

Day 6.          5 Hour’s Drive

Ashanti Kente Weaving & Adinkra Stamping.

Morning travel to a Kente weaving village. Take a tour of the village seeing the Kente craftsmen weaving pieces of Kente cloths with their wooden looms. Visit a cocoa farm to see how cocoa is produced in Ghana. Continue an Adinkra cloth stamping village. See and learn the various stages of Adinkra production.

Day 7.       

Manhyia Palace Museum, Prempeh II Jubilee Museum & Okomfo Anokye Sword Site.

Morning visit Manhyia Palace Museum, an official seat and residence of the Asantehene. Learn about the history of the Ashanti Kingdom including the royal lineage, rituals and the struggles with the British forces in the colonial days. Tour Prempeh II Jubilee Museum, which provides a fascinating collection of Asante history and treasures. Visit the Okomfo Anokye Sword Site to make a sightseeing of the sword Okomfo Anokye buried into the ground about 300 years ago, exact place where Okomfo Anokye conjured the Golden stool unto the laps of king Osei tutu I, founder of Ashanti Kingdom.

Day 8.          5 Hours Drive.

Assin Manso Ancestral Slave River Site.

Morning travel from Kumasi to Cape Coast. Visit Assin Manso Ancestral Slave River Site to see where slave captives were made to take their last bath before transported to the America’s.

Overnight at Cape Coast.

Day 9.

Kakum National Park, Cape Coast Castle & Elmina Castle.

Morning visit to Kakum National Park, a tropical rain forest of an area of about 375 square kilometers notable for nature and wildlife. Hike about 30 minutes ascending the steep hill to the Canopy Walkway suspended between 11-40 meters high above sea level and 350 meters long. Experience nature and the beautiful view of the forest in a secured series of nets and wires. Continue to Elmina Castle, an oldest colonial building in the Sub-Saharan African, built by the Portuguese in 1482. Tour the Cape Coast Castle, a UNESCO World Heritage Site as well as one of the largest slave-holding sites during the infamous Trans-Atlantic Slave Trade.

Day 10.      

Departure.

Travel from Cape Coast to Accra for your flight back home.
