I had the pleasure of contracting Nyonkopa Eco Tours for my 9 day trip in Ghana. I visited the Volta Region, the Central Region, and of course Accra. Nyonkopa Tours delivered a highly detailed itinerary that covered transportation and costs to all sites we visited. Kweku was a pleasure to work with and made sure that I was taken care of. He was very attentive and did his best to ensure that I had a great experience. The strength of booking a tour with Nyonkopa is that you will have someone knowledgeable of the culture, who can take you to places where you will have authentic experiences and support the locals. Kweku was great at bargaining for me at the market and souvenir shops. I highly recommend Nyonkopa tours. The investment in this company made the world of difference for my trip. My experience in Ghana would not have been the same.

This was such a perfect experience. Organisation beforehand was seamless, I had already done some of the suggested activities so Kweku made me a fully customised itinerary based on my interests. He arrived on the day bright and early and full of infectious enthusiasm, and everything was just so smooth and wonderful. Kweku was very patient and always made sure I had everything I needed, and arranged some activities that I had wanted to do but can be complicated to organise. I also really loved talking to Kweku about his work and how he is so committed to supporting local communities. A beautiful day made better by Kweku's care and professionalism, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend him to everyone coming to Accra. I NEVER write reviews, but this one was necessary. Nyonkopa Eco Tours is the BEST tour company in West Africa. I recently traveled to Ghana with a friend. As women, we were very concerned about our safety. However, this company made us feel safe the entire time! They took very good care of us from the moment they picked us up from the airport from the time they dropped us off at the airport! Prior to arriving in Africa, I told Kweku (our tour guide) what I wanted to do while there…he ensured that we did it all, plus more!!!! Our experience was unique and one of a kind!! Kweku and our drivers were patient, kind, understanding, and catering to our every need! I’m very pleased with their services and plan to use them again when I return to Africa!!!

Nyonkopa's services provided were excellent!!! Beginning with my initial inquiry - Kweku was responsive and detailed regarding what to expect. I also inquired about a customized tour to participate in a West African Dance class and he swiftly made the arrangements. Fast forward to the 2 days of touring I signed up for: including the Accra City tour on Day 1 and the Cape Coast, Elmina Castle and Kakum National Park tour with the amazing Clement on Day 2. Clement was timely, knowledgeable and protective of my mentee and myself while introducing us to the local culture. Clement professionally served as driver, teacher, photographer, planning manager, advisor and all around awesome human being. I wouldn't think of using any other team whenever I am in Ghana. We visited Accra and Cape Coast for the first time and found Nyonkopa Eco Tours after researching for our trip. Kweku was very responsive, and super flexible in helping us create and customize a trip itinerary during our stay which spanned Accra and Cape Coast. Nyonkopa is a local Ghanaian owned and run Tour Company! We were hoping to visit Accra with a guide, but wanted to avoid being part of a big tour group, so working directly with Kweku through the booking and tour process was ideal. The tours of Accra City, Jamestown and Makola Market were stunning and powerful. Kweku provided background and history on the spaces we visited, and we were thankful to be able to navigate to each location with an experienced driver behind the wheel! Thank you Isaac! We would highly recommend the Beading workshop at Cedi Beads and the Batiking workshop if you’re in the Cape Coast area. Both offered the opportunity to support family owned factories, and the chance to learn from these artists to make your own piece to take home. We created our own glass bead necklaces on our 10 year anniversary! The traditional Ghanaian food class was another special experience we would encourage folks to add to their list of things to get into! Thank you Nyonkopa team for a memorable stay! We’ll be back!

I did a fabulous half-day fantasy coffin tour with Kweku with a friend. Kweku was a great guide and went out of his way to make sure that the trip was as good as possible. Before the tour, he communicated over WhatsApp and was very responsive to any queries we had. We visited the original fantasy coffin workshop and Kweku made sure that we got as much as possible out of the visit, prompting when there were extra things about the coffins that would be interesting to know and making sure we saw everything. We then went to the Artists Alliance Gallery which was a great place both to look at Ghanaian artworks and crafts and also to buy a few souvenirs (without having to barter as everything had clear price tags!). The trip finished with a walk along the beach. Kweku also made a point of pointing out other sights in Accra along the way so it felt like we got two tours for the price of one! He added little extras like buying us his favourite street food and dropping us off a good restaurant for fufu at the end of the trip. In addition to this, he was like our own personal photographer/videographer for the day so we got lots of pics and videos to remember the trip by! Very highly recommended!

I can highly recommend to take a trip with Nyonkopa. Our guide Kweku was flexible and creative in creating a 4 day tour based on our interests. Furthermore he was super friendly and made sure he provided us with the best time. Together with my (elderly parents) we visited some nature sites and cultural heritage sites. If we wanted to stop along the way to buy fruits or take pictures it was no problem at all. The communication and payment went smooth and fast. He is used to working with American and European tourists and understands their cultural background. Absolutely good value for your money. Would take a tour with him again without a doubt!
